This is the story of a country mouse and city mouse who united over a love and curiosity of fungi...

We, Meghan (left) & Tara (right), live in Alberta, Canada; Meghan on a farm outside of Sundre and Tara in the city of Calgary.

We first met at a Permaculture Design Course in 2014 and became fast friends. In 2016, we seized the opportunity to start Fungi Akuafo, a mushroom spawn company with the goal of making mushroom cultivation more accessible to DIY growers, gardeners and small commercial growers.

We realized early on that demystify the world of mycelium and mushrooms was just as important as producing spawn. Thus, education became one of our core values.
